The summer is moving by at a rapid pace and your Board of Directors has been working hard to move along initiatives important to the physicians and patients of northern Colorado. Of note, we are still looking for NCMS member physicians to join the board of directors. Read more here if you may be interested.

Your board and staff are currently working on the following top strategic initiatives:

• A review of our governance process, including the NCMS bylaws and our articles of incorporation.
• Recruiting board members to fill vacancies.
• Launching a new Facebook page (a switch from the NCMS President Facebook profile) to add transparency and additional outreach tools.

Additionally, for our special projects we are collaborating with Northern Colorado Anesthesia Professionals on guidelines for perioperative management of patients under medication-assisted treatment (MAT), exploring a regional educational meeting in 2020, continuing work with other stakeholders on a query of CIVHC data, soliciting nominations for Physician of the Year and accepting applications for the Legacy Scholarship.

We are developing a strategy for promoting the new statewide advance care directives registry, and considering new policies to increase diversity, equity and inclusion.

Additionally, we are planning the Physician Meet and Greet (Aug. 17), Legislative Night (Oct. 10) and the Annual Meeting (January 2020). Contact me any time with your questions or concerns.
