We need your help. A series of five ballot measures proposed by trial lawyers would destroy common-sense policies that have increased patient safety, strengthened access to health care and contained costs in Colorado for the last 40 years. These initiatives threaten to make health care more expensive, harder to find and less safe. Senate Bill 130 is the reasonable alternative we can encourage lawmakers to pass this legislative session.

NO on Ballot Initiatives 150, 274, 275, 276 & 277

These measures would destroy safe spaces in medical care that promote patient safety and eliminate reasonable limits on the amount of money an individual can collect when suing a health care provider. This would result in many health care specialists opting out of higher-risk procedures and patient care, charging more for these services or leaving their practices altogether. The impact on Coloradans would be devastating: decreased access to care, more expensive health care and reduced health care quality and patient safety.

There’s a better way.

YES on Senate Bill 130: The Fair, Reasonable & Balanced Solution

Senate Bill 130 would increase the limit on how much individuals can collect when they win a lawsuit to a reasonable level, while still protecting health care for millions of Coloradans. This positions Colorado to continue attracting and retaining talented health care providers, which preserves access to health care (including specialty care) and protects patients from skyrocketing health care costs.

Take Action

The medical community is standing strong with our patients to safeguard these protections. We won’t compromise on patient safety, quality of care, affordability or access. But we need your help to ask lawmakers to OPPOSE these harmful ballot measures and SUPPORT Senate Bill 130 instead.

Take Action

The medical community is standing strong with our patients to safeguard these protections. We won’t compromise on patient safety, quality of care, affordability or access. But we need your help:

  • Lawmakers: Share your support for Senate Bill 24-130, which increases the non-economic damage cap to a reasonable level, providing a balanced approach to compensating patients while ensuring accessibility, affordability and stability in our health care system.
  • Health Care Professionals: Share your story about how Initiative 150 would impact you. Ask your lawmakers and community stakeholders to protect access to care or consider authoring a Letter to the Editor in your local newspaper.
  • Health Care Consumer Advocates: Add your name to the Senate Bill 24-130 supporter list. Tell lawmakers that Initiative 150 will make health care more expensive and harder to access.
  • Rural Leaders: Contact your lawmakers to explain how Initiative 150 will make it even harder for rural communities to recruit and retain health care providers.
