COPIC is hosting a new series of virtual seminars focused on key legal issues in health care.

COPIC’s Legal Insights seminars are designed for physicians, advanced practice providers, practice and facility administrators, and others on your staff who would benefit from practical guidance on complex legal topics. Led by experienced attorneys from COPIC’s Legal team, these one-hour seminars are an opportunity for you to gain valuable knowledge. Each one will focus on a specific topic, including EMTALA, 21st Century Cures Act, and HIPAA Basics.

EMTALA: Common Pitfalls and Compliance Issues

Are you complying with EMTALA requirements? How do you define an “emergency medical condition?” Responsibilities under EMTALA can be complex and it is important to understand the obligations that apply. Learn what you need to know and the actions to take in order to comply with EMTALA.

This seminar will review the requirements of the new rule, discuss potential trouble areas, and highlight ways to maintain compliance.
