NCMS Virtual Education Series: The Short Route to Telecare

NCMS is excited to host a virtual education series beginning in March 2021, running through December 2021. A virtual education event will take place the third Thursday of every month, addressing a new topic for our physician community.

Topic: The Short Route to Telecare

Speaker(s): Michael Victoroff, MD

Overview: The Short Route to Telecare An overview of the technological, legal, regulatory, and liability essentials needed to practice telemedical care. This program provides a basic familiarity of telemedicine to allow practitioners who have user-level acquaintance with teleconferencing to provide telemedicine to patients during emergency conditions.

Time: 6:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m.

Event objectives:

• Understand the practical components of telemedicine.
• Understand the legal and regulatory framework for telemedicine under the COVID-19 rules.
• Understand professional liability risks associated with telemedicine.
• Discuss platforms, consent, standards of care, security, documentation requirements, as well as approaches to evolving best practices.
