NCMS member Chima Nwizu, MD, diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Lipidology and physician with Family Physicians of Greeley, is starting a monthly Lipid Journal Club in Northern Colorado. The Lipid Journal Club will be used as a forum to present outcome studies, practice guidelines, interactive case studies, scientific tools, and academic discussions devoid of the pharmaceutical industry bias or influence. The purpose of this Journal Club is to help equip physicians with the scientific tools required to combat the burden of cardiovascular diseases, which are significant causes of morbidity and mortality in our society.
