Rethinking Addiction: Using Science to Build an Ecosystem of Treatment and Recovery

May 16, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am

The Mental Health and Substance Use Alliance of Larimer County and the Health District of Northern Larimer County will present “Rethinking Addiction: Using Science to Build an Ecosystem of Treatment and Recovery” on May 16, 8-10 a.m.

The Physician and Behavioral Health Provider Breakfast will be a two-hour educational learning session hosted by R. Corey Waller, MD, MS, FACEP, DFASAM, a nationally-recognized expert on addiction, and NCMS board member Lesley Brooks, MD, chief medical officer of Sunrise Community Health.

Event organizers hope providers will learn new perspectives on how to work with patients with these diseases, hear about some current evidence-based practices and approaches, and dialogue with the speakers to discuss the many challenges/barriers to working with this population, as well as hear some recommendations for how they can incorporate this knowledge into their practices.
