NCMS members,

Well, I looked down at a calendar and I honestly could not believe that I have celebrated my year anniversary as Executive Director of this organization. First and foremost, I just want to say thank you to all of our physician members for all the work you do, and your commitment to NCMS. I feel honored to be part of this community in Northern Colorado, and this has truly been a year that I have enjoyed.

NCMS is committed to you, and I am thrilled to share some exciting news about where NCMS is headed and how we are involving you in this process. Through the many programs NCMS has provided members for quite some time such as education events, social events, and legislative advocacy, there were many new things that we also tried this past year to pivot in our new virtual world to continue to provide a sense of community.

Through this work, and as we analyze that some of your needs as physician members have changed, I am pleased to announce that the NCMS Board of Directors will begin a strategic planning process that will elevate YOUR voice, so NCMS can better strategically align to create a healthier medical profession for you. This process will begin later this Fall with a survey. I know, surveys are never fun, BUT this is essential to helping NCMS measure and understand your needs to better design our member programming for the utmost impact and support. I will also be doing listening sessions with members who are willing to give me about an hour of their time if a survey is not the correct way for your voice to be heard. If you are interested in participating in a listening session, please email me at paige@nocomedsoc.org and we will find a time that works best for you! I really look forward to this process as we only continue to make NCMS a stronger support for YOU.

I am also pleased to encourage members to check out our unveiled STEM Pipeline project in partnership with the Northern Colorado Health Sector Partnership, Poudre School District and Fort Collins Family Medicine. The NCMS STEM Pipeline was created this past winter with the vision to help create the future physicians of tomorrow, especially with a lens of diversity, equity and inclusion. This video is only one step towards this vision that I am proud the NCMS Board of Directors has supported. Although I was looking forward to seeing many of our physician members in person at this year’s Legislative Night on Wed. Oct. 6, I still hope to see you online at our virtual event. We have quite a few surprises to make this a very memorable evening. Learn more and register today!
