Shop for Care
You can view data from Colorado’s All Payer Claims Database at Shop for Care, a tool available from the Center for Improving Value in Health Care (CIVHC). Shop for Care can be searched by procedure and location and includes both average commercial payments to facilities and rough quality data from the Medicare site Care Compare. Although this cost information does not predict patient payments directly, it can often give a sense of relative cost at different facilities.
Colorado Hospital Price Report
Another tool with similar data is the Colorado Hospital Price Report from the Colorado Division of Insurance. This tool includes more detailed information about the average charged amount, average allowed amount, average plan covered amount, and average member liability amount.
