Join an NCMS Champion Group
Are you looking to get more involved in NCMS? Do you want drive the direction of our member organization in an extremely manageable way with your busy schedule? Serving in a champion group may be the perfect fit!
What is an NCMS champion group?
A champion group is a committee made up of NCMS Board members and members who focus on governing a specific passion point in the NCMS strategic plan, working directly with NCMS staff.
What does a member of a champion group do?
A champion group member governs on behalf of the strategic priorities that the champion group serves for NCMS. Governing can include but is not limited to brainstorming new strategy, facilitating introductions to potential new partner organizations and representing and speaking out on behalf of membership to continue to make NCMS programs the best they can be.
What are the champion groups that I can join?
Membership: Help create member programming events, strategies and resources. Be the voice of NCMS members and govern what we plan for YOU.
Continued Education: Do you have an idea of an educational event, series or resource that should be planned and given to our members?
Advocacy: Do you have a passion for legislation? Do you want to help govern NCMS advocacy priorities and stay involved with your local legislators? If you answered yes, this is the group for you!
How much time will be expected of me?
Champion groups will not meet more than four times a year (once a quarter) and they may meet less. Enthusiasm to share new ideas is all you need to be a member of a champion group.
