A neurologist that takes brain waves to a new level with his writing

“When you start writing, you do it for yourself, but you also want to share it”.

Sean Pauzauskie, MD has had a passion for medicine since he was a child, with health care professionals all around him, including his Father who was a health care attorney and an Uncle who was a surgeon.

In college he majored in biology and English and wasn’t sure how we wanted to combine the two as a profession. Little did he know he would be well versed in both.

So how did his English major combined with Biology really come together? A mentor Pauzauskie had in college inspired him to maintain an interest outside of “bedrock” . He gave him confidence to pursue writing outside of just daily living.

“It was really confidence that he gave me that made me realize I could do both”, Pauzauskie says.

Saying that he could do both was an understatement, as this was the encouragement he needed to begin every writer’s dream: writing a novel.

Pauzauskie started first novel in college, but didn’t have the courage to really do it and finish it until about five years ago. The title character is a scientific journalist investigating a story of the national institute of mental health. Pauzauskie says you have to start with writing what you know, so no surprise here when we are introduced to the lead character.

Pauzauskie’s journey of writing is incredible, and there is so much more to the story! Learn more and listen to the exclusive podcast interview on stethoSCOPE.
