Colorado Medical Society hosts two virtual events to address COVID-19 vaccine distribution and increase in cases

The Colorado Medical Society hosted a Virtual Grand Rounds on Nov. 11 to address the plan for statewide COVID-19 vaccine distribution with Eric France, MD, MSPH, MBA, CDPHE chief medical officer, and Diana Herrero, interim deputy director of the CDPHE Division of Disease Control and Public Health Response. They spoke on the draft of distribution efforts and answered questions from physicians. See the recording and understand the conversation here.

The Colorado Medical Society also hosted a virtual Town Hall on physicians’ response to the COVID-19 pandemic on Nov. 18. They addressed three main topics: bamlanivimab, an IgG neutralizing monoclonal antibody treatment; workforce shortages in the current COVID-19 surge; and new Public Health Order. Stay updated on how you can request resources for your hospital or organization to address workforce issues. A request form will be available within the next week: https://info.hwlmsp.com/colorado-staffing-collaborative. A follow up discussion will be planned regarding ethics behind the distribution of bamlanivimab. To join this focus group, email membership@cms.org.
